Winter Fun in Rexburg: Things to Do Around Town in February

Winter in Rexburg may be cold, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do — especially in February! Whether you love snowy outdoor adventures, cozy indoor spots, or relaxing getaways, this time of year offers plenty to explore for everyone living at Mesa Falls Apartments . Hit the Slopes at Kelly Canyon Ski Resort Just about a 30–40 minute drive southeast of Rexburg, Kelly Canyon Ski Resort is a local favorite for winter recreation. This alpine ski area in the Targhee National Forest offers fun for all skill levels with 26 ski runs, 4 chairlifts, and night skiing — perfect for a winter day trip with friends or family. If you’ve never skied or snowboarded before, Kelly Canyon’s gentle slopes and lessons make it a great place to learn. And beyond downhill skiing, the area features cross-country and snowshoe trails, giving even more ways to enjoy the snow. Warm Up Afterwards at Heise Hot Springs After a day on the slopes or exploring outdoors, unwind at Heise Hot Springs , located just a short drive from Kelly Canyon. This locally beloved spot features natural hot mineral pools — including a 92°F warm pool that’s great for everyone and a hotter soaking pool if you’re looking to relax sore muscles. It’s a perfect way to melt away the cold and reconnect with friends or family after an active afternoon. The lakeside setting also adds a scenic backdrop to your winter soak. Explore Local Parks and Trails Closer to home, Riverside Park offers winter walks and ice skating opportunities when temperatures drop — a fun and free activity that’s easy to fit into your day. For a more adventurous outdoor experience, locals also enjoy sledding at spots like the St. Anthony Sand Dunes when they’re covered in snow. Living at Mesa Falls Makes It Easy One of the best parts about living at MSA Falls Apartments is how easy it is to access these winter experiences. You’re never far from community events, local attractions, and scenic Idaho beauty. February in Rexburg is the perfect time to embrace the season with friends, stay active, and make lifelong memories.
